Miller Park AARP Workout Facility Ribbon Cutting

The first post on MyArdmore over a year ago was about the new fitness equipment that had been installed in Miller Park.

COVID did not stop folks from using it but precautions prevented an official opening. Until today.

Mayor Allen Joines, City Council member Kevin Mundy and other city officials held an official ribbon cutting ceremony for the fitness equipment.

The equipment was made possible by a grant from AARP. Winston-Salem was the only city in North Carolina to receive the grant. This is the 17th ribbon cutting for an AARP-sponsored park and have plans to open 53 more parks.

The equipment allows for over 20 exercises.

In addition to the ribbon cutting, a free COVID vaccination clinic was set up in the parking lot.
